Perterm Labor Prevention

What is Preterm (Early) Labor?

Preterm (early) labor means you have signs of labor before the 37 the week of your pregnancy.  It is very important that you call your provider or go to the hospital if you have any of the following signs of labor especially if you have them before the 37th week of your pregnancy.

  • Regular contractions, with or without pain
  • Bloody show (bleeding or spotting)
  • Leaking or gushing of fliud. The bag of water surrounding the baby may have broken.  If this happens, call your provider right away.  You will need to go to the hospital.
  • Dull, low backache, pressure or pain
  • Stomach cramps with or without diarrhea

Please notify your provider immediately if you have nay of the above signs of labor.

Please notify the Mommy & Me RN if you have been to the hospital for preterm labor.
